Three determining design trends from Milan Design Week 2025

The core of all this brought Salone del Mobile, the internationally renowned furniture fair, designers, thinkers and makers from all over the world to explore the most creative new directions of the year in furniture and interior.

This year’s theme, Thought for peoplereflected a more people -oriented approach. About exhibitions and collections there was a clear shift to comfort, tactility and emotional resonance. Of the constant influence of ‘Soft minimalism’ For a renewed embrace of color, personality and sensory experience, the message was clear: good design not only works well, it feels good.

We will discuss the latest trends, new ideas and new releases from some of our favorite designers at Ton, Fermob and Muuto whose products stood out this year.

Color -inspired color, refined
Natural tones return with deeper character and sensory attraction

Nature-inspired Palettes made a remarkable return, but with more depth and nuance. Echo Pantone’s Color of the Year Mocha MousseSoft clay, olive, cocoa and ocher tones have grounded many collections. These were often laminated with tactile materials such as bouclé, brushed suede or lacquered wood and combined with charged marble or high -gloss finishes. The result is warm, compelling and unmistakably modern.

Ton’s 2025 release, the Cissy Chairman of Patrick Norguet, reflects this beautifully. Image wood and soft neutral upholstery meet in a piece that feels both current and permanent. An ideal choice for dining rooms and relaxed shared indoor spaces where craftsmanship and a measured aesthetic matter. Norguet puts from Ton’s heritage to develop a palette that feels rooted and expressively, using material and tone to convey silent strength instead of decoration.

Indoor and outdoor continuity
Furniture designed to flow over living zones

One of the strongest themes of Fermob in this year’s Salone was the continuous merger of inner and outdoor life. The newest releases of the brand reflect a growing desire for consistency throughout the house, with furniture that offers the same level of comfort, function and visual clarity, regardless of the garden, on a terrace or in the living room and kitchen.

This idea was brought to life by the Croisette collection by Pascal Mourgue, re -introduced with new sitting variations that reinterpret traditional Provencal reed patterns in contemporary materials. Made from hand -woven polyethylene and lightweight aluminum, the design is both relaxed and resilient, well suited to easily move indoors and outside. Fermob expanded this theme and also introduced its first modular outdoor kitchen, Goosto, built in steel with a clean, graphic profile.

Atmosphere is important
Design connected by mood, memory and experience

During Milan Design Week this year, the design was not only about form or function. It was also about feeling. One of the most compelling experiences came from Muuto, whose exhibition Transitions and deliberate spaces A Milanese apartment transformed into a sensory journey through the seasons. Each room reflected a different time of year, styled with iconic pieces from the collection using color, texture, light and scent to shape different atmospheres and emotional signals.

This focus on mood was clearly in every detail. From the silent tactility of the middle table by Taf Studio, now available in dark gray marble, to the soft, adjustable glow of the loop lamp by Dimitri Bähler, Muuto created interiors who deliberately composed and intuitively lived.

The installation also reflected a wider shift over the stock market, which was released from uniformity and towards individuality, where contrasting materials and daring combinations brought character and renewed confidence for the interior.

What’s coming home now
A more comfortable, slower approach to how we make our lives

From Milan to your house, the direction is clear. Interiors are on the way to comfort, simplicity and a deeper connection with how we live every day. But that does not mean that design contains a rear seat. The best spaces are calm, comfortable and clearly personal, formed by the people who live in it.

Expect more warmth in materials, more comfort in shape and more intention in the coming year how we provide our houses. It is a shift to interiors that feel stylized instead of, spaces that match the character with clarity, where every piece of purpose and presence entails.
